THE MERIT SYSTEM

Monticle members continuously develop and apply life skills to progress through the ranks of leadership development. Progression of rank is achieved through participation, commitment, and dedication.

Monticle Experience Points (MXPs) are designed to monitor the progress of students, encourage initiative and participation, and instill a sense of pride in all of our participants.

Members receive experience points by attending various events
(see below).

The merit system is used to evaluate senior members working towards their Alpine or Summit ranks and is based on the following:

Participants are automatically members upon signing up to participate any Monticle event or program. Through registration, members’ MXPs are recorded and kept track of.

There are no membership fees or costs to becoming a Monticle member.

It is up to the individual member’s willingness and ambition to participate and be an active member. Participation and staying involved benefits the member in their self-development and enriches their leadership experience.

Members are encouraged to check website postings for event launches and member gatherings. Official meeting attendance may be required of higher ranked members. Frequency of meetings will vary.
